Palmer helps open Masters
As is often the case, Arnold Palmer greeted those who entered the gates early with a smile at the No. 1 tee.
Palmer, along with Jack Nicklaus and Gary Player, kicked off the Masters Tournament with the traditional honorary tee shot.
Afterward, Palmer said he was getting a cup of coffee with breakfast before heading to Florida, but he always enjoys his time at Augusta National Golf Club and uses it to play some.
"I still enjoy playing occasionally and hitting balls," he said. "I probably hit more balls (here) than I do anything else."
Palmer was asked about his drive to open the Masters and his smile widened.
"I blitzed it right down the middle," he said. "My best drive of the year."
