Rose impressed by Foley's string of success
If Justin Rose is asked for Masters betting advice, he'd know where to put money.
"[Sean] Foley," Rose answered quickly.
Golf instructor Foley has seen great success recently, from Hunter Mahan's Sunday win at the Houston Open to Rose's March triumph at the WGC-Cadillac Championship and Tiger Woods' victory at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, also in March. Woods' win was his first on the PGA Tour since 2009, when he won the BMW Championship.
"Obviously he’s on a great run right now," Rose said about Foley. "He deserves it. He works really hard. He’s fun to be around and he’s got a great method of teaching. He really understands how to get the most out of his players."
Foley started working with Rose in 2009. As part of his coaching, Foley uses TrackMan to use science and math to analyze swings.
Though Rose said that can be a little overwhelming at times, he said Foley knows when it becomes too much.
"He’ll rein it in," Rose said. "He’s also very careful at using TrackMan. He finds a good balance."
