Woods apologizes for temper

'I'm sorry if I offended anybody'

Tiger Woods offered an apology today at Augusta National Golf Club after another round of swearing and club abuse.

"I'm sorry if I offended anybody by that," Woods said. "I've hit some bad shots, and it's certainly frustrating at times not to hit the ball where I've needed to hit it."

Cameras caught Woods swearing after errant shots Friday in the second round of the Masters Tournament. His frustrations reached a peek at the 16th tee when he dropped his 9-iron and kicked it away in frustration en route to a 3-over 75.

"I certainly heard that people didn't like me kicking the club. I didn't like it either," he said. "I hit it in the bunker, and it didn't feel good on my toe, either."

Woods failed to move up the leaderboard today, shooting even-par despite promising birdies at Nos. 3 and 4. He threw his club to the ground at the 13th tee after hooking it into the tributary down the left side of the fairway.

The four-time Masters champion parred all four par-5s for the second consecutive day. He currently sits in a tie for 39th, nine strokes off the lead.
