Payne: No course changes planned
Augusta National and Masters chairman Billy Payne said there are no announcements forthcoming on course changes.
The chairman spoke this morning at his annual State of the Masters address.
Payne said that with the rerouting of Berckmans Road, the club now controls the property that used to border the course. He said that they would continue to study possible changes and the they are “always looking to improve.”
Payne also spoke about four-time Masters champion Arnold Palmer, who died in September. To honor Palmer, Payne said the tournament will muster Arnie’s Army on Thursday by providing a special commemorative button to all patrons.
