Brian Harman made the cut at the Masters Tournament for the first time, shooting 2-over-par 74 on Friday.

But the fiery UGA alum wasn’t in a mood to celebrate after he felt he left some shots on the course at Augusta National.

“It was very undisciplined. I did so many good things I should have got a much lower score today, so I’m pretty disappointed,” said Harman, who sits in a tie for 35th at 3-over par. “The mistakes I made were just in the wrong spots.”

After three birdies and a bogey in his first seven holes, the round started to unravel at the 460-yard, par-4 ninth.

“I had a poor drive on 9 and I had a really good second shot and it sticks up top,” Harman said.

With a tough pin placement on the front right of the green, Harman faced a downhill shot that didn’t hold the green, leading to a double bogey.

“I just made some bad mistakes and got a little unlucky,” Harman said.

Bogeys at the par-4 14th hole and par-4 18th ended the round on a sour note.

This is the second Masters appearance for the 31-year-old, who is ranked No. 23 in the world. He played in 2015, qualifying with his first PGA win at the 2014 John Deere Classic, but missed the cut after shooting 76-72.

In the previous year, Harman won the Wells Fargo Championship, tied for second in last year’s U.S. Open, made the Tour Championship and is one of the top 50 in the Final Official World Golf Rankings from 2017.

Simply put, Harman came here to compete for a green jacket. To be a dozen shots behind puts a damper on his weekend.

“There’s a long way to go,” Harman said. “But I felt like I shot myself out of it today. I had a chance to be in contention on the back nine. But it was hard to move forward and easy to go backwards out there today. After last time, it’s good to be playing on the weekend. But I have to get something going early in my round tomorrow.”

Harman is set to tee off at 11:20 a.m. with two-time Masters champion Bernhard Langer of Germany.
