Course closed for the day due to thunderstorms in area

3:20 p.m.: Due to approaching thunderstorms and high winds, play was suspended and the course closed to patrons for the rest of Monday.

 

9:00 a.m.: The first full practice round day is under way at the 83rd Masters Tournament as players are trying to beat the expected rain this afternoon.

Tiger Woods is on the course, playing a practice round with Justin Thomas and fellow Masters champion Fred Couples.

Rory McIlroy and Dustin Johnson are practicing together, and former champions Bubba Watson and Adam Scott are among the players on the course this morning.

Today's forecast calls for mostly cloudy skies until early afternoon. A 40 percent chance of showers begins at 3 p.m., and the greatest potential for thunderstorms is after 4 p.m.
