Jason Day back after week off with injury
After taking last week off, Jason Day arrived at Augusta National early to prepare for the Masters.
Day, who tied for 20th last year, played nine holes following the Women’s Amateur on Saturday, and finished another nine Monday morning.

“The weather doesn’t look great (Tuesday), so it was important for me to get in nine holes today,” Day said. “I played nine Saturday, then came out and chipped and putted yesterday, so I feel good right now. If I can get in nine more Wednesday that’ll be perfect.”
Day has been fighting a back injury, which forced the Australian to withdraw from the Arnold Palmer Invitational in March. When asked about his health, Day said, “My last two tournaments haven’t been great, but if there’s one I need to peak for it’s this.”
Day has three top-10 finishes at the Masters in the past eight years, including a tie for second in 2011.
“If (my back) starts to hurt I’ll have to tough it out,” Day said. “The (Dell Technologies) Match Play was very hard trying to get through that. But I’ve had a week off now, so all-in-all I feel pretty good.”
