Thorbjorn Olesen back in Augusta National comfort zone
In his first trip to the Masters since 2014, Thorbjorn Oleson has put himself at 2-under par for the tournament and in contention heading into weekend play.
The 29-year-old has been one of the most accurate players in the field finding greens. Oleson hit 30 of 36 greens in regulation over two rounds.
“I’ve played solid,” Oleson said. “I drove the ball pretty well. I hit a lot of fairways and a lot of greens. I hit them pretty close too and that’s all you can do. I feel like I’m putting well as well so I think they’re going to drop in at some point.”

The Fureso, Denmark, native tied for sixth at the 2013 Masters. Oleson said he always has fun playing Augusta National because there’s something special about the course for him.
“I feel like it suits me,” he said. “I have a good game plan. Been sticking with it the last two days. I’ve been executing it very good.”
The 53rd-ranked golfer in the world opened his round with an early birdie on No. 3 and closed his front nine in 36. He shot 35 on the back to finish off a second consecutive 71.
The five-time European Tour winner said he feels confident heading into the third round. He said his caddie, Phil Morbey, who won the 1991 Masters with Ian Woosnam, is helping him manage his way around the course.
“Have Morbey on the bag who has been here a lot of times and has won here,” Olesen said. “I need to keep hitting a lot of fairways and greens and we’ll see what happens.”
