Bubba Watson eagles No. 13, posts solid second round at Masters
Bubba Watson had to take care of business early, but finished the day with a solid second round and a good shot at making the cut in his 12th Masters Tournament.
The former University of Georgia standout’s second-round performance was highlighted by an aggressive second shot on No. 13 that led to an eagle. He also found birdies on No. 6, 8 and 15 to work around a pair of bogeys and finish with a 69, putting him 1-under par for the tournament.
Watson didn’t tee off until 2:27 p.m. Thursday, so he had to go out early to finish his first round after play was suspended by darkness. The opening round was a forgettable one for the two-time champ, as he went bogey-bogey-double bogey on No. 16-18, finishing with a 74.
Former Bulldog Brendan Todd didn’t fare as well. Todd began his second round with three bogeys on his first nine (he teed off from No. 10). He finished with a 73, putting him at 2 over for the tournament.
Todd also had to finish his first round Friday morning, also a 73. The odds of making the cut are not in his favor.
