"Biggest fan," 14, gets Rickie Fowler's glove

Lauren Andsager, 14, struggled to catch her breath, and her hands shook furiously. Her favorite golfer, Rickie Fowler, made her day by tossing his glove to her as he left the 18th green.

“It’s super exciting,” Lauren said. “I’m actually shocked about it. He’s one of the handsomest men.”

Lauren described herself as one of Fowler’s “biggest fans.” She followed his round on the course before getting an up-close look at him at No. 18.

Lauren might get some use out of the white Titleist glove. Or, she’ll try to find Fowler again for an autograph and then put the glove in a frame.

“I’ll keep it for the rest of my life,” she said.

A COVETED CHUNK of Augusta National grass went home to Wilmington, N.C., with Robert Persuit, and his son, Jake on Saturday.

A security guard at the No. 12 tee box handed Jake a divot left behind by Bill Haas. Jake didn’t ask for it but was happy to take the souvenir home. His father soaked the grassy divot in a plastic Masters cup filled with water.

“We’re gonna try to keep it growing,” Robert Persuit said. “Make a little tiny (putting) green.”
