Chinese teen, Faldo will play together in Par-3 Contest
Tianlang Guan, the 14-year-old amateur set to become the youngest participant in Masters Tournament history, will play the Par-3 Contest with one of the all-time Augusta greats.
Three-time green jacket winner Nick Faldo will pair up with Guan in his first appearance on the nine-hole course. The annual Masters pre-tournament event will be held Wednesday, April 10.
“It’s a date,” Faldo said as he shook hands with Guan. “I’m going to start training immediately.”
On Tuesday, Faldo presented the Chinese teen with a Special Achievement Award celebrating his victory in the 2012 Asia Pacific Amateur Championship which qualified him for the Masters.
