J.B. Holmes carded a final-round 68 but will be remembered most Sunday for his assist on No. 16.

Holmes’ tee shot stopped five feet from the pin on the par-3, later proving to be directly in the line of playing partner Louis Oosthuizen.

After hitting the green with his tee shot, Oosthuizen’s ball ricocheted off Holmes’ ball for an improbable hole-in-one. Holmes’ ball barely missed going in, too.

Holmes made three bogeys in a row early in his round, but rebounded with seven birdies for the day.

Holmes’ 68 was his lowest score this week by six shots. The Kentucky graduate shot 36 on the first nine before closing with four birdies on his final seven holes. He needed just 24 putts Sunday.

Sparked by his final round, Holmes finished tied for fourth, his best finish in three Masters Tournament appearances.
