Patrons track down Bubba Watson's spot on No. 10
Scott Muschewske and his son Blake
talked about it as they searched for it.
They had to ask for help and got some right away, and when they thought they had found the spot, Blake posed for dad. The 12-year-old isn’t a lefty, but he had to be, at least for those few seconds.

The Muschewskes, from Chanhassen, Minn., were two of a seemingly endless stream of patrons to walk to a spot right of the fairway at No. 10 made famous by Bubba Watson during the 2012 Masters Tournament. After an errant tee shot in the playoff against Louis Oosthuizen, Watson hit a 40-yard hook from the trees to within 12 feet of the hole and two-putted to win the green jacket.
Now patrons are getting their pictures taken at the spot, where they pretend they’re about to hit a shot like Watson’s.
“(Blake) being 12 years old, that’s one of his Masters memories,” Muschewske said of Watson’s shot.
The scene was busy with people trying to find the exact location.
“It can’t be …”
“It’s all the way down here, he said.”
“It has to be here.”
“Wow!”
Many asked workers or fellow patrons for help trying to find the spot. Lynette Smith, of Lubbock, Texas, hoped there would be a marker in the future – not only so people could find it more easily but also so the moment could be honored.
Aiken’s Sam Jones, a proud lefty like Watson, was one of countless patrons to capture his re-creation with a picture.
“Just from a physics standpoint, it’s just phenomenal, just the spirit that he had to even attempt it, and under those conditions,” Jones said.
He then readied himself, both for the imagined golf shot and the camera shot.
“I could do it,” he said before one of his friends took the picture. “I can do it.”
Jones, pretending there was a club in his hands, took a swing and smiled.
“A beauty,” he said.
