The List: Viewing opportunities at Augusta National
To maximize your viewing opportunities, check out these places at Augusta National Golf Club if you are attending today’s practice round.
5 PRACTICE PUTTING GREEN/FIRST TEE: This is an excellent spot to see a large number of players. Most hit the practice putting green before teeing off for a practice round.
4 18TH GREEN: It won’t have the same vibe as Sunday afternoon, but you should be able to find a spot near the green. From behind the green, you have great views looking out at the rest of the course.
3 SEVENTH GREEN: This is a great place to take in a lot of action nearby. In addition to the approach shots to the well-bunkered green, you can see tee shots at Nos. 3 and 8, the green at No. 2 and the fairway at No. 17.
2 AMEN CORNER: The most famous stretch of holes in golf: Nos. 11, 12 and 13. Water comes into play at each hole, and the stretch got the moniker from famed writer Herbert Warren Wind for the action that occurred there in 1958.
1 16TH GREEN: This is the fun spot for the practice rounds. Players often try to skip a ball across the pond and get it on the green. The tradition dates back to the 1980s, and some believe two-time Masters champion Seve Ballesteros started it.
