Storms could pop up starting Wednesday night
Showers could put a damper on this morning’s honorary tee shots.
Starting at 10 p.m. Wednesday and stretching into this morning, rain and even thunderstorms were possible in the area, with chances especially likely overnight.
There could be more showers tonight, but the day should be mostly cloudy with wind gusts up to 25 to 30 mph.
This morning’s opening ceremony with Jack Nicklaus and Gary Player hitting the first tee shots is set for 8:05 a.m.
Friday is expected to be partly cloudy and windy, with a high of 70. The weekend rounds should be sunny but chilly in the mornings, with a possibility for frost Sunday morning. Weekend highs are 63 on Saturday and 66 on Sunday.
